How can you photograph a beach engagement session that is both modern and fun, while being also artistically interesting and memorable? I say, add a touch of personality to it. With this 50s inspired engagement session at the beach I wanted my bride and groom to have a ton of fun while also capturing some truly timeless photographs.

Both Hollywood stars, Caitlin and James, are used to be in front of a camera, but this time they didn’t have to interpret a role, their love story is real and they said, for once, it was amazing to be themselves. We played with different bathing suits styles during the beach engagement and incorporated some styling details to accomplish this 50s look, keeping the shoot fresh and modern at the same time.

In my years of photographing weddings, I have loved shooting engagements too but today I am obsessed with them. I realized that engagement sessions don’t need to live in a box. Long gone are the days of matching colors, dresses (unless they’re from designers Marchesa or Monique Lhuillier LOL) and meeting at the local park. Today, our engagement sessions take place all over the world, in the most beautiful places and are adventurous, fashionable and most importantly – fun.

Our couples have also developed a sense of style and refined their taste for photography and are looking for a photographer that can ensure their shoots are meaningful and a true reflection of their personality. Not only do they end up with unique, editorial-style photographs after our session, but we’ve had the opportunity to get to know one another better, spend some true quality time together and set the pace for a wonderful wedding day!
