Do you want to get married in Italy and are interested in different destinations? After reading this blog post, the chances are very high that you will choose one of these dream wedding venues in Lake Como.
Brides and grooms from all over the world choose Lake Como as a destination for their weddings. It is one of the gems of Italy, and it is of easy access because of the convenient proximity with the city of Milan, which offers the commodity to fly directly into one of the biggest International Airports.
The landscape, the lifestyle, and the serene backdrops are one of a kind and blend seamlessly with the natural elegance of some of the most luxurious hotels and villas. Celebrities have always chosen Lake Como as a destination to retreat and enjoy relaxation, privacy, and the magnitude of service of the best Italian restaurants.
If you love the glam of this so alluring, world-famous destination, then you have no reason to look elsewhere, and chances are that you just found your dream fairytale location for your destination wedding.
I specialize in Luxury Destination Wedding Photography between the US and Europe.
Among my favorite wedding venues in Lake Como, we can see Villa D’este, Villa Pizzo, Villa Balbiano, and Villa Sola Cabiati.
Villa D’este, mon amour, if you are the kind who loves exclusivity and timeless luxury, then waste no time, this villa is for you. They only host a very limitate amount of events every year, as, every winter, the hotel closes its doors, to curate and renovate their spaces. Here you can surely enjoy one of the best experiences and their gardens are so unique that they will make for unforgettable photographs. Equipped with about 150 rooms, you and your guest can enjoy the belle-epoque interiors of the house and all of its old-world allure.
Villa Solca Cabiati is famous for its grandiose interiors and luxuriant gardens that will offer a romantic time travel to the golden age of Neoclassical architecture. It is often chosen, also, for its incredible privacy, as the vast gardens extend all round the back of the villa, offering shelter from the lake and the streets.
Villa Balbiano, probably one of my most favorite wedding venues in Lake Como, gains its place in the podium with Italian gardens to take your breath away, and a majestic gateway with fountains and statues. Here you can breathe all the Rynascimental romanticism.
The Villa interiors are opulent and if you’re looking to host a truly “Bridgerton” style wedding, then this is your gem.
One more beautiful venue is Villa Del Balbianello. You are probably going to remember this one for its iconic three-arched loggia.
More suitable for slightly more intimate parties, this villa offers a breathtaking view and, best of all, it allows you to make an entrance none of your guests will ever forget. You can only arrive by boat and following the path, you and your guests will be admiring the incredible view of Bellagio.
In the hotel category, let’s not forget the luxurious Mandarin Oriental. One of the reasons I love this venue is its pretty greenhouse that can host intimate dinner receptions. The gardens offer a true sense of familiarity while being luxuriant and curated, and situated in the verdant botanical park surrounding the hotel, the Amphitheatre is a wonderfully atmospheric lakefront spot, ideal for small weddings celebrations with about 100 guests.
Of course, there are many other villas on the lake, and if you wish to learn about them, stay tuned for part two on this blog. In the meantime, if you wish to see some more photos of Villa D’Este, check out this gallery from Ali and Rafique’s rehearsal dinner.
